Advice for beginers

Postby street dreamer » Sat Aug 19, 2017 9:48 pm

I have been around cars all my life, but the one thing I have learned over the years is that getting truly educated answers or direction about building a race engine is very hard to find.
I now have two nephews who are dying to get into the sport but their knowledge is made up of high school kids extravagant stories of their 1000 hp daily drivers that take them to class mixed with my limited shade tree mechanic knowledge, and then add a touch of street outlaws tech help and they think that they are ready to go.
Does anyone have a suggestion of where to go or who to talk to that would be willing to at least give good solid advice that would help my nephews as well as myself to build a good engine without getting taken for a ride by someone that just talks fast and doesn't really know what race performance is about?
