Event times are set in advance for printing and advertising with the expectation of normal late July/early August heat and humidity. Who knew the temps would be anything but high 90's to 100 degrees. This time of year is normally just too hot to expect anybody to put on a firesuit, get in a car with a 180 degree transmision sitting beside them, and pull to a 145 degree starting line. The drivers and the fans appreciate letting the temps and the sun go down a bit before racing starts. We just got lucky this weekend with predicted cooler/nicer/more comfortable weather.
