Any plans on making the track shutdown area longer?

Postby 93_SVT_FREAK » Thu Feb 19, 2009 9:44 am

I was wondering if making the shutdown area longer was on the list of things to upgrade being cars and bikes will be going faster this year :?:

I really like what I'm seeing so far from the new owners

The shutdown will not be lengthened due to the huge drop off at the end.

We applied for some of the stimulus $$ for a shutdown bridge to nowhere.....

The first time I came to Ozark in the 80's, we did a burnout around the corner (basically behind the tower) and the starting line was moved back to lengthen the track. Don't think we'll be bringing that back anytime soon.

Hey, I remember doing burnouts on the "curve". If we went back to that, it would only make the far end about 30ft longer. I think technology and research and developement have had a bigger impact on the big end because we are all faster/quicker than we were back in the 70's and 80's. If you have ever been at the far end, where the gnomes live, you would see there just isn't that much fill available to bring the bottom up to where we can use it. It is a really deep ditch. :o Ask Daniel.

I still remember in the early 90's there was a bad bump at the finish line in the tower lane palmer said all 4 wheels were 4'' off the ground at the finish line big fun at 155

Jim , I clearly remember one of your first runs in the orange doll , I was midway on the spectators side and your front runners had not yet set down , I swear I saw daylight under them all the way to the far hay bales.....I was thinking ....hollow.....

A little bird told me that orange doll is really dolled up for the new season...spiffy...I heard... :o :o
