I have a 1978 Vega wagon (O.K.--it is badged Monza-- but still a Vega) drag race project only, No Title. I started this project, but decided that I like my Luv truck better.
This car has been changed to 5 lug all around. It has S-10 spindles and disc brakes on front using adapter bushings for the ball joints. Originally a V6 + AC car, it has the bigger ball joints and the front springs are ready for a small block. I installed a nice Monza manual steering box to get rid of the power steering. Engine frame plates from a V8 Monza are included. The Vega nose and air dam are UP22 fiberglass parts.
Inside there is a 10 point roll bar installed with full 2" X 3" subframe connectors front to rear. Chassis is very stiff. New RCI 5 gal. fuel cell is included. Rear suspension is all UMI performance parts, 3 link (Monza) with tubular adjustable lower control arms, tubular adjustable torque arm, and adjustable panhard bar.
Rear end is the small 10 bolt, but has had the axle tubes welded to the center section (with nickel rod). It has 4.10 GM gears, a new 28 spline mini-spool, New moser S/S 28 spline axles, Jegs girdle rear cover. S-10 brakes and ex. long studs. In this lightweight car, the rear should handle 400-450h.p. and live.
If someone wanted to back half this car and put a 9" etc. in it, I would be glad to sell the car minus rear end and UMI suspension parts for $600. I know that I can part this car out and make more from the parts than I can from the complete car, but I would like to see it all leave at one time.
