I am finally upgrading to a full face. Its the fire safety aspect as well as impact damage that convinced me.

This is racing. Anything can and will happen. I personally think if you pull to line in 21 second 4 cylinder vega, you should have a helmet. Just cause your car may not set any records or even be able to break the national speed limit, does not mean the guy next to you can't get crossed up and T-bone you into the wall. Why not beg, barrow, buy or rent a helmet and add one more link to the safety chain. I think you are on the right track.
Thats .02 cents right there.

My daughter has raced a time or two at KCIR and you wear a helmet no matter if you are in a race car or the family sedan. Saw a guy driving an old VW beetle wearing a helmet.

Drop 150 pounds, get a new dyno tune, add some big and littles and see if I can't pull a low to mid 12!

I know that I'm just a slow goober in a big old Lincoln, but I get a special thrill when I line up against someone and they look over right as I am planting that helmet on my head and they start to think "Maybe I underestimated this guy".
A helmet is the mark of a real racer. It's a badge of honor, it says that you are taking it seriously. Get a helmet and wear it with pride.

I still have my full face motorcycle helmet, but I don't know what rating or anything it is.
