looking for a base line setup

Postby Ron » Sun Mar 15, 2009 8:37 pm

hopefully , weather permitting, I will get my car to the track this coming weekend. Im looking for a base line setup to start with. this is where Im at.
355 small block N/A on pump gas (sorta)
the engine has plenty power. rpm band is 4500-7500
I have no experience Drag launching the car with a 5 speed.
It as a line Loc installed
A VERY light weight twin disc clutch (17lbs with the flywheel)
Im running a 12 bolt with a 3.73 gear
"STOCK" street radial tires for now
no frt sway bar
rear LCA relocation brackets
car weight about 3800 with me in it. (BIG Guy)
looking for starting line launch advice, alignment specs and starting tire pressures.
I NEED Drag radials or slicks, I realize that, but its not a financial option right now.
Im outa work looking for a job and barely can afford to get the car to the track to meet all you nice people.

Hello again Ron--It will be nice to meet you this weekend. There is suppose to be a Drag Racing 101 this Saturday at 10:00 am. I know you have experience at the strip but there are allot of really knowledgeable people out there who are more than willing to give you advise. I do not think I have ever came across a friendlier and more helpful bunch of fellas anywhere. If you can make it out at the class I am sure you could get allot of questions answered there also.---plus it is free!!!!! who could ask for more, knowledge free of charge.
