we all know going faster is better bou it's a dubbel edge sord maybe insted of making shut down longer , one should up graid the braking system with the motor .

93_SVT_FREAK, that looks like a good idea to give us a few extra feet to slow it down. It would keep the cost down too.

We applied for some of the stimulus $$ for a shutdown bridge to nowhere.....
How about a wide right turn at the very end?![]()

1/8 vs 1/4.
chute vs no chute.
Palmer has alot more distance to slow that mph down. Plus he is a pro. Certainly not everyone coming to the track is as seasoned or prepared as palmer.

Actually Scott was over 240mph through the 1/8 and his chute failed to open one night. He used all of the far end and one pair of shorts. He was able to do it, but does not recommend doing that on a regular basis. I have run it out the big end before with no time, and my car will be around 160mph in a 1/4. You don't want to wait even a little to hit the brakes on my car. Through the 1/8 I almost don't have to use the brakes, if I do I can make the first return. I could probably pull my chute and slow down lots quicker in the 1/4, but then I'd have to climb out store the laundry before I went back to the pits. I would like to go 1/4 too, but I'm happy with 1/8. I could consider 1000ft.
though.

I had no chute one time at a 168 in the 1/4 my front end just touched the hay bails lol
