I'm in too!! You know that track is gonna need some fresh rubber laid down before the season starts.

We could do it saturday after all the work is done. Nothing better after a hard day of work then smokin 'em if you got 'em.

I'm game for the $5 entry fee and winner takes all because I'll need a new set of M/T's!!

Burnout contests are a little risky. I have seen several cars blow motors, trannys, rear ends, over heat, etc. and it is usually in a spot you don't want that in. So, because of that, they wait till the end or after the racing was over. Not many people left to watch at that time of the morning. Years ago,( and I'm talking many years) they did the burnout competions in the after noon. It's a big hit, but the carnage was a major clean up hassle. The best burnout I ever saw was a convertible Dart with, I think a Paxton on it. It started out with the top up. The smoke engulfed the car quickly and you could barely make out the top going up in the smoke. He then let off the brakes and shot out of the smoke with top down. Very cool. I think he was from Republic. I also remember a blown 32 Ford that got way crossed up coming out of the smoke and almost taking out the tree. :burnout: That would have been bad. There probably is a way to do it safely and with out risk to the track...I'm not sure the logistics of the whole thing is worth it so it can be viewed safely by others. :|

It would be risky but it would also bring a new hit to the track that would get a reputation. Just like the midnight drags except any car would be welcome.. and you could scotch the front wheels for the saftey reasons.. :peel: :peel: :burnout:
