SOLD!!!1979 FOX-BODY 8 sec. Index turnkey

Postby SLEEV5879 » Thu Aug 23, 2012 8:59 pm

I'm selling my '79 Mustang Cobra Street/Strip car. The body is straight and it has very little rust. I swapped in a built 351W, c4 trans with 2,800 rpm stall converter. It has been garage kept the last 11 years and has received many other upgrades. This car has 129,000 mile on it but has less than 2,000 miles and 7 passes on the new engine, trans, and other new parts! I built this car with the intentions of bringing to the track to play, but I haven't the means(trailer) to bring her out with out the help of friends. It has been a good project for me and she has turned into a really strong running car but it's time to let her go. I'm guessing horse power/torque to be about 400/425 at the crank. Made 3 passes(a lost alternator belt put me on the trailer) on 5/11/12. Best hit was a 8.31 @ 87 mph 1/8th and 12.70 @ 108.15 mph in the 1/4. Quicker e/ts with more passes, tuning and perhaps a bigger carburetor(currently running a 670cfm Holley Street Avenger). Belt problem fixed 5/31/12 with new Powermaster high RPM alternator pulley. Would make a great 8 second Index car.I have over $10,000 invested(you know how that is) but I'm asking $5,000 cash. No trades please. Feel free to ask me any questions about the car and/or make me a reasonable offer. Call or text me @ (417)942-9110. Please no calls after 9:00pm. Thanks! ImageImage
