2010 Schedule
After months of "tweeking" we've managed to make a schedule that doesn't conflict with CDRA or Mokan (with the exception of one race) and isn't racing during the ADRL weekends for Shoot Out guys! Also per the bracket racers request we've managed to schedule the Bracket Points Series races off the Shoot Out races, but still combined one as requested!
The "points series" is going to be sponsored by Reliable Chevrolet and Mickey Thompson has stepped up to give tires away in the bracket classes also. If you have any questions on how to "win" these and the MANY other prizes please ask or email and we'll be happy to help! Other goodies include converters, transmissions and parts, oil, motor freshen ups, a crate motor and sooooooo much more we can't begin to list them all.
The payouts are larger, the prizes are better, the track is continuing to be upgraded and Terry Hall is running the points races for the points racers! We'll be giving 10 free spectator passes (to be used on the spectator side only, for points races only) to all racers that enter points. You will also receive a free T-Shirt displaying one of Marty Dennys AWESOME designs! (and of course those signing up for points will also receive 2 free tickets to the banquet at the years end!).
So don't miss out on signing up for points...... it's bigger, and better with MUCH more benefits than the previous years!!
Annual Banquet
Banquet is February 19th at the Clarion Hotel in Springfield. It's being catered by the Clarion and will be a 2 meat buffet. Those entered in points will have two tickets. We'd love to have everyone there!!!! So if your not in the points, come and have fun, it's only $20.00 per ticket and includes the buffet!
We need to get a head count ASAP. So if your planning on coming, email Mitch for reservations.
Rather than send the points tickets out, we'll have a roster at the door.
Rooms will be available for only $64.00 with indoor pool. You must call and mention ORP to get this rate. (Our rate is normally much lower than their standard rate, however they are running an Internet special for $69.00... but it's still saving you $5 bucks) and a hot breakfast is included.
Ozark Raceway Park is excited to announce a new shootout class for 2010 called "Mean Street". Mean Street will be an 1/8th mile, .400 Pro Tree, entry level small tire class with rules designed so a wide variety of cars can participate. The class is setup as a restricted single stage nitrous power adder, stock suspension, street car type class geared to be very basic, economical and "entry level".
The base tire for the class will be the popular 26x8.5 slick, with 275/50 radials and 26x10.5 ET Streets also allowed for automatic cars. Electronic aids will be kept to a minimum, with no MSD 7531, progressive controllers, or traction control devices allowed. Power will be restricted by allowing a maximum 750 Holley Carb, or OEM EFI 75mm throttle body and a single stage plate or nozzles before the throttle body on OEM EFI vehicles. Nitrous will be restricted with a maximum orifice solenoid of .093" allowed and a smaller .083 single jet restriction on big blocks.
To keep any one particular combination from walking away from the rest of the field, the rules are setup to restrict the nitrous jet on any car that runs .011 faster than the 6.00 class ET record. This and the other rules for the class should generate some very close and exciting racing, and it's a great class to get started in for those that want to run "Heads Up".
For a look at the full rules, visit the Mean Street Rules page at Ozark Raceway Park. There is also a huge forum thread going on for this topic in the Ozark Raceway Park forum if you are interested in discussing the class.
